Anyone know what the schedule is for replacing utility poles in Seaview? They added a second utility pole on my property over a year ago. The original pole has been “white tagged” but remains. It is not a nuisance or a problem. Just curious.

I was once told that ‘they’ wait until there are a few poles in an area then send a crew out to do them a batch, saves over-head by lessening the transportation costs and paying employees less driving time.

If that’s the real-deal I don’t know, but does make cents (sense).

    It does make sense, sbre!

I’ve wondered if the cable companies could be contributing to the long schedule. I imagine they are responsible for moving the cable wires from one pole to the next. Perhaps the city is waiting for that to happen before they take the down the old poles.

Out of curiosity, there is one pole down the street that is precariously balanced on a bunch of wooden slats. Anyone have the back story on that?

I’ve seen that, shed22. It’s on 49th and i drive by it a lot and always wonder what’s up with that. it has this “third world” look to it.

It really does, B-squared! Have you seen the champagne bottle and roses near there? That’s another one that keeps me wondering.

I did see that, and thought, Hmmmm…? perhaps it’s an art installation. never know anymore. maybe we should get together and put some random stuff there too.
