I’d say “have a ducky Thanksgiving,” but then the turkeys would all get jealous…. or something like that, eh? The Thanksgiving duckies are out and about at the West Seattle Ducky Reserve. Come on down… “turkey in the straw” is the name of the song, but it could be ducky in the straw…

7031 Beach Drive SW. Also, Sterling Images Gallery is part of Art Walk this Thursday, and there is a whole set of new art from John Cerminaro and Xavier Lopez.

Also, bring canned food donations. We are collecting it as part of Art Walk’s November food drive!

I can’t help but think there is a turducken joke in here somewhere!

Voodoo… for sure! In the case of the Lulu Duckies of West Seattle, it is duckyturkey rather than turducken, because, well, the ducks are on the outside and the turkeys are on the inside… that is, to say, in technical terms, the Thanksgiving Duckies are mostly duckies with a pinch of turkey. As for turducken, they are called that because they are actually turkeys stuffed with duck which has been stuffed with chicken… the “en” stands for “chicken.” If it were alive, it would sound like… uh, cluck, quack, gobble… or a variation thereof.

One of our most famous Thanksgiving Duckies is “Indiepilgroturk ducky” coz he has decided to stand in solidarity with Native Americans, Pilgrims, and Turkeys by wearing something from each “culture” at Thanksgiving. A lot of voodoo there for sure…

Stopped by the Ducky Reserve this morning on my walk, to see the Turkey Day Ducky Display.

Very cool, as usual! Plus, had a quick chat with Ron.

    Check it out, folks!
