Had to laugh … Morgan Junction still OK, though.

Well, this IS the Times we’re talking about. As far as I can tell, their definition of “hipster” is “anyone under 30”.

True to their old nickname, “Fairview Fanny.” (Of course, knowing that dates me as totally over 30!)

How can it be hipstery if everything that doesn’t serve food closes at 6pm before the twenty somethings get off work?

You know, trickycoolj, I always wondered what the deal was with everything closing so early. I mean, not even one day a week they could stay open? So many stores I’d never been to because I’m there in the evenings for dinner.

    (a) Yet another reason I don’t think news publications should include opinion, but whatever. We best remember this writer for declaring Super Deli Mart to be in White Center. (Amended, for this archived version, to “near” White Center. Still not accurate. It’s actually Fauntleroy, on that side of the street. http://seattletimes.com/html/foodwine/2014571435_happymart23.html Yes, we know, WS neighborhood boundaries are quirky. But there’s this weird thing where regional media sometimes declares anything south of Thistle to be WC …)

    (b) Beer Junction, which I believe was mentioned (I am not following the link again), is actually open fairly late. Hours (including Wed night, Txgiving Eve, until midnight, I see here …) http://www.thebeerjunction.com/#!hours/ce44

    (c) Shop Late Thursdays, until 9 pm, in December. Yes, I don’t get the early hours either (being someone who would prefer to shop around midnight or so), but perhaps things will evolve. Keep making your preferences known to shopkeepers – if you don’t want to tell them in person, you should have online options such as FB messages.
