Trick, I so agree. I didn’t always agree with him, but I so appreciated how fervent he was about politics…very sad indeed…

    Jan,

I didn’t agree with him all the time as well, but I can say he had journalistic integrity which seems to be a dying breed in itself.

Political work in TV is tough. It’s something the suits don’t want to give too much time to because it’s not “sexy.” I was always the political producer in my newsrooms because nobody else wanted to do it (and I did it fairly well). Whatever the sentiments about the drawn-out Democratic nomination fight this year, you have to agree that it kept more people talking about politics for a longer time in the pre-election period, and that made it “sexy” for a good long time. Bummer to lose a familiar face helping make sense of it all. – TR

And it was sexy till the bitter end of the pre-election season, as seen in this hilarious clip:

Time was somebody you could trust to be fair. He had integrity. I didn’t always agree with him either but felt that he trusted the public enough to let us decide. Like the way he went about David Duke. He showed rather than told. And like someone else already mentioned, one of the few honest ones. RIP Tim!!!

Class. He treated all viewers with respect, talked to us, and trusted we were intelligent and could figure it out of given the chance to hear reasoned discussion. He wasnt simply a talking head out to grab ratings for shock value – he set the bar high – one can only hope others would strive for that level of professionalism. He’ll be missed.
