any idea what the helicopter is doing circling east to west between Genessee Hill and maybe Pigeon Hill? moving slowly and sounds too “heavy” to be a news copter. Sounded like Airlift NW at first, but that isn’t a pattern they would fly…Guardian One?

I saw it walking back from Westfest and came here immediately to see what it was as well. Perhaps something on the 911 site might more info. Gonna check

Two people e-mailed me about this, which fwiw is a faster way to get us if you want to, than the forum, although I should probably rig some RSS reader for alert to new posts. I’ve been listening for quite some time and there’s nothin’ – at 5:40 pm our friends at another site across town alerted us to a “silent holdup alarm” at First Mutual but there were no police there when we went by to check after covering the Mars Hill protest, so I’m pretty sure it wasn’t robbed (police wouldn’t clear that fast). Nothing on 911. We did see a USCG chopper around 5:45 but it was heading west toward Vashon – TR

Thanks TR – if I had seen three news choppers or a search light, I might have emailed, but it didn’t seem like urgent news yet :) oddly enough, the Coast Guard crossed my mind because the lights were far enough apart to be a fit – I don’t know which direction it left in when I came inside, so could have been Vashon
