The Orchestra of Flight starting rehearsals – Sept 13

Yes indeed – time to dust off those strings and pull the trombone out of the closet!

The volunteer community musical group known as the Orchestra of Flight is starting rehearsals on Monday, Sept 13 at 7:30PM at Zion Preparatory Academy, 4730 32nd Ave. S

While not rehearsing in West Seattle the orchestra has many ties to the West Seattle area.

We play several concerts a year at many area nursing and retirement homes, including Providence Mt. St. Vincent. We also play an annual dinner fund raiser which was held at the Highland Park Improvement Club in May.

You may have seen our orchestra director, Matthew Kruse, conducting the musicians in the pit for several of the shows done by Twelfth Night Productions. And a few of the group’s instrumentalist live in West Seattle and/or also participate in the Westside Symphonette groups.

Just heard from our director we’ll be performing a Scandinavian program for our first concert series including Valse Triste and Finlandia by Sibelius and Peer Gynt Suite 1 & 2 by Grieg
