wakefloodParticipant“We have serious problems to solve, and we need serious people to solve them. And whatever your particular problem is, I promise you Donald Trump is not the least bit interested in solving it. He is interested in two things, and two things only: making you afraid of it, and telling you who’s to blame for it. That, ladies and gentlemen, is how you win elections. You gather a group of white, uneducated voters who remember with longing an easier time, and you talk to them about family, and American values and character, and you wave a birth certificate and you scream about patriotism.
You tell them he’s to blame for their lot in life. And you go on television and you hurl epithets.
We’ve got serious problems, and we need serious people. And if you want to talk about character, Donald, you’d better come at us with more than a crazy wall and a birth certificate. If you want to talk about character and American values, fine. Just tell him where and when and Bernie Sanders will show up.
This a time for serious people, Donald, and your fifteen minutes are up.”

JanSParticipantSo, for all you veterans out there (yes, I’m one). …going to an expensive military prep school is tantamount to becoming a Marine…or an Army Ranger, and on and on. Donald Trump said so, and said he got more military training that many of those in the actual military. You all believe that, don’t you? SMFH !

metrognomeParticipantwake – I love that quote; I’ve posted it out here before along with a link to a YT clip of that speech. One of my favorite movies, stellar cast and timeless theme.
JanS -I went to a Catholic grade school staffed by Holy Names nuns in the 60’s; I’m pretty sure it was worse than Marine boot camp. My WWII Marine dad left the room whenever Sister David came in the room, esp. if she had her metal-edged ruler …
I love Bobby Jindal’s statement that we know that Trumpet hasn’t read the bible because he isn’t *in* the bible (never ever thought I’d start a sentence with, ‘I love Bobby Jindal …’)
I read a CNN piece that analyzed Trumpet’s business ‘success,’ which is a little difficult as the exact size of his fortune is only a guesstimate. It pointed out that he inherited a sizeable fortune from his father who inherited a fortune from his father. It went on to suggest that if he had merely wisely invested his inheritance, he would have made about the same amount as he has now, i.e. his business ventures as a whole haven’t been that successful. (Other than to build monuments to himself, similar to the Egyptian pyramids, except that his name is emplazoned on them.) He has also set a record for business bankruptcies.
Speaking of bankruptcies, keep your eye out for news on the progress of (class action?) suits against the now defunct Trump University. Likely to be quite a scandal …

KenParticipantLink for the totally misinformed wingnuts. Note page has actual links to real documents not generated by clickbait wankers.
Carry on.

JoBParticipantjokes aside.. this phenomenon is troubling
the people who are excited about Trump will vote in the next election…
those not so excited about what they see as business as usual probably won’t.
you can’t outnumber them unless we all think preventing someone like Trump from becoming President is important enough to get out there and vote.

metrognomeParticipantI thought Carly Fiorina’s vid response to La Trumpet was worth posting; my only quibble is that her comment about women not being a ‘special interest group’ would be better directed at her own party …

metrognomeParticipantI anyone feels that Mr. Trump doesn’t already have everything he needs in life, here is a perfect gift suggestion … the 2016 Vladimir Putin calendar:
If you think the current Mrs. Trump (wife #3) also needs a gift, Putin-inspired perfume is available too.

JanSParticipanthmmm…Putin inspired perfume…what’s it called? Sweat?
