Yesterday, I had to get my daughter to Children’s ER. She has a metabolic disorder, and she was growing comatose. The viaduct was closed, and I could see the 5 was in great shape. Getting on to it, however, was the usual nightmare back-up. I decided I had to cut, and thought about putting on my emergency blinkers. Thank you, dear soul, in the green subaru outback, with an older gent passenger: you let me in, you didn’t honk, give me the finger–nothing. Sometimes things aren’t what they seem. We’d already spent the week in the hospital; we’re back again, but that small gesture meant a lot to me. I had never cut before, and this time it was a life-saving maneuver.

Angelscrest. Glad one person made a difference. I too hope your daughter is well. I had an emergency one time – used my hazard lights and soft touches of my horn. Flashing my headlights and not a single vehicle would move or yeold. It’s a helpless place to be. Wish people would be more aware.

Dear Angels, my heart goes out to you! I hope your child is safe and feeling better.

After having a similar emergency I learned to always call 9-1-1 instead of driving, the aid car drives more calmly and safely than I could, and can get through traffic faster too.

Best wishes to your family this Father’s Day.

First off, I hope your daughter is doing well.

Second, I was in Rome once and traffic there is a nightmare. We were waiting in line for an exit/merge when a car came out of nowhere and stuck his nose in front of us and edged in

front of us. My driver (a local) said “he must be in a hurry, or have an emergency….it’s ok.”. I have always remembered that. Now, if I notice the same car two days in a row I might be an a$$, but you just never know what is going on with other people……
