When I get sandwiches there they are usually about $8-$10. So I don’t know what kind of new math makes lunch for two $35.
With that said, there is an abundance of so-called cheap food available in West Seattle, courtesy of of industrial feedlots far from Seattle, government subsidies of grain production, and the products of the petrochemical industries that make it all possible. But the health and environmental costs of that food isn’t generally factored in to the price.
Personally, I don’t mind spending a few bucks more to purchase sustainably sourced food from small farms/ranches with a price that is closer to the real cost of production.
