Pardon me if I’ve posted this in the wrong forum – this is my first post.

I am specifically looking for you Sprint users out there, living in West Seattle, to comment on your reception/experience with Sprint.

I would specifically like to hear from anyone using a Palm Pre.

My background: TMobile customer for 8 years – service has always been excellent throughout the US and even internationally with roaming. No complaints. I’ve been using a Dash for nearly 4 years (best TMo phone released IMO). I am however very tired of the devices offered by TMobile.

I am not interested in Andriod, nor am I willing to try AT&T. I specifically want to try out a Palm Pre, but I am hesitant to change providers as my experience with TMobile has been acceptable.

I do not wish to hear comments about other service providers….just Sprint, and the phone you were/are using.

Many thanks! I really appreciate it!

Oh…I live on the hill right above Westwood Village, and any comments within this area specifically (like deep inside the Target) would be awesome.

    Again, thanks!

I have Sprint for cellular voice and a dedicated data card (USB 598) in Highland Park. I’ve been in Target and using my Blackberry Tour (9630) and received emails successfully, but never tried my data card.

Now you’ve got me semi curious to try it out.

Last year I switched from TMobile to Sprint because they gave me a great deal on a Blackberry and the international calling rates were surprisingly cheaper (though marginally so).

So far so good with the coverage. I’m actually out of the country at the moment and it’s working great. But from deep inside Target…couldn’t tell you.

Thank you both for your comments. I’ve talked with a few Pre users that work at my office. They both have expressed Sprint had very good coverage where they needed it, but neither visits West Seattle often.

Its hard to judge coverage for a carrier, because so much depends not only on extremely specific location, but also on the device being used. More often than not, people only comment when they have had a bad experience, yet they only have bad coverage in one specific location (which all carriers are guilty of).

Anyone else out there using Sprint, or specifically a Palm Pre, here in West Seattle?

    Thanks!

We have Sprint and find spotty service in our neighborhood. We are near 44th and Raymond and the reception at our house is awful. We’ve had Sprint for several years and it only got bad when we moved to West Seattle two years ago. I can’t speak for the 3G service, but the cellular reception is not good and that makes me believe that the 3G would be poor too.

Gosh you guys are lucky! One of your neighbors happens to be the District Manager for the Seattle area.

If you have any questions or are having any issues with your Sprint Nextel service, I welcome you to reach out to me at jonathan.housknecht@sprint.com

You might also be interested to know that we are launching 4G service in Seattle are December 1. There won’t initially be any handsets that are 4G compatible, only air cards but I’ve already tried it and it’s super fast!

My husband and I both have sprint and live just north of the Morgan Junction. We’ve had no real problems with service, though no experience with the palm pre. There is one spot on the Admiral Hill where I always lose my signal and lately one spot in my house (just one small little spot in the hallway)…so odd. Anyways, very happy with sprint overall, been a customer for several years, had AT&T before and hated them. Looking to potentially upgrade soon to the new HTC phone! Also, I think (if I remember correctly), that Sprint will let you try out a phone for two weeks and if you are not satisfied, you can return it. At least I think they used to do that. Good luck.
