I find it hard to believe , that because I choose to live on Alki, The price I have to pay is rude , insensitive , trash throwing visitors..

It seems that My being so close to the beach…that I HAVE to put up with the insanity.

That I cannot legally park in front of my house.

And my motrocycle is fair game if parked on the street.

I know that if you walk down Lander..Just a block off the beach.. on any nice day,(especially weekends), you would see numerous vehicles parked in a manner not consistant with law or More.

I would like to see more parking enforcement and less criticism.

    Case in point..

Friday night..May 21st there was a Black Volvo parked against my Motorcycle..actually touching it.

I called the police and they came..and told me to not park it on the street if I didn’t want that to happen.

    EXCUSE ME?!?!?!

WHy is it the home owners problem when a visitor to the area does something wrong?

    Oh well..

When we get our drivers license…doesn’t mean we can….or park for that matter.

We live close to the admiral theatre and admiral bars and we get a lot of inconsiderate visitors that park their cars too close or right on our driveway. Not nice!

Alki parking is a bear. I never understand why residents are allowed to park on parking strips, overhang on sidewalks…. but this has all been discussed so many times. It was nice today though!!!

If you have illegal parking to report (which doesn’t sound like the OP’s problem, but maybe someone has that sort of thing to report) – here’s the city webpage with lots of relevant phone numbers:
