Hi. I have the memory capacity of a goldfish. So, for the last little while, on my way to work, I have driven over the West Seattle bridge on Fauntleroy, and I’ve seen these signs for smiletrain.org. And I always say to myself, “Note to self: Check out smiletrain.org when you’re at your computer.” And I’ve consistently forgotten to do so for the last approximately billion months.

I finally remembered to check it out tonight, and it looks like a worthwhile cause. Here’s the address (I hope): http://www.smiletrain.org

I haven’t done any background work on the organization; I tend to be an all-too-trusting individual. The only reason I’m writing this post is on the off chance that there was someone else out there, who on her/his way to work said, “Hmm, what’s SmileTrain”? and then promptly forgot, well, here it is…

i just checked this out on a couple of charity authenticity cites. Not a good one. The “lie”. Too much goes to overhead.

    but thanks for posting this…

i have said the same thing to myself every time i have passed that sign…

and have promptly forgotten to look it up…

    the idea is good..

perhaps this is just not the right organization for donations.

I’m laughing because I always say I’m going to look them up and then forget. Thanks!
