Needed a drink and solace tonight. Skylark delivered.

The dining area has undergone subtle, but effective, changes. Less kitsch, more pleasing paint, photo blowups and light fixtures.

I had my glezel varms (gin in my case), but Charla went for some cranberry Cosmos. Very tasty. If it’s not on the menu, ask for it.

Comfort food was done well. We shared fried chicken salad, onion rings and the Big Kid grilled cheese with tater tots.

A new owner, Matt, was very welcoming and cool. I’m pretty sure he needs more patrons. If you haven’t been by lately, give the new Skylark a try.

We had a great Monday after a hard day.

We had a great Sunday breakfast with cocktails there a few weeks back. Trying to get back again soon. Hope you all give it a try.

glezel varms? sounds like one of the answers I couldn’t get to the Sunday NYT crossword puzzle that everyone else on that blog acted as if it is the most common phrase Yiddish phrase in the world.

How about that … I guessed right. Thank you, Allan Sherman!
