OwnerMaryMemberI have used a number of cleaning services (now with weekly service), but am seeking a true house keeper. I differentiate a cleaner from a keeper, as I am seeking someone who will not only clean, but straighten up, put things away, do the laundry, change the linens, etc. I am currently using Dana’s — they do a great job of cleaning, but do not straighten up, and things were staightened up, are no longer quite so straightened when they leave.
Have a recommendation for one that will come to WS?

MargLMemberOh that’s interesting. We’ve been using Dana’s for years and our house keeper actually spends most of her time folding laundry ;-) She changes the bed sheets, dusts, straightens up clutter on the tables and counters, loads/unloads the dishwasher and puts dishes away. Since it’s a 4-hour a week service maybe they don’t have time to do everything you regularly request (the cleaning) plus the straightening part. Do you have a list that you give the cleaner each week, or leave it up to them to do what they see needs done? I probably could have managed our cleaner’s time more efficiently if I’d given her a list – but usually I just point stuff out like “If you have time, could you please clean out the refrigerator?”

hammerheadParticipantOwnerMary, As you have probably have read I own a house cleaning business. I would be happy to help with your need in housekeeping. If you would like to contact me to see how I am able to help you.
Housecleaning and housekeeping really are different things. Washing dishes and folding clothes are housekeeping type jobs. I typically focus on cleaning but am open to the idea of broadening my business to accommodate peoples needs.
If you want to discuss what some options might be please feel free to contact me.
