there’s another app. by the same for direct shipment of liquor, etc, for an addy on 16th SW..so not sure which is going to be the restaurant. The second one is the same block as Full Tilt, I think, so that may be it…

WSBKeymasterReported on White Center Now a couple months ago. I talked to them around Memorial Day and they were hoping to be open by Jubilee Days (a month ago) but as often happens with these projects, taking longer. Proletariat Pizza.
The couple putting it together are West Seattleites who live in Highland Park.

ToddinWestwoodMemberarrrghh. Terrible name. from Wikipedia:
The proletariat (from Latin proles, “offspring”) is a term used to identify a lower social class; a member of such a class is proletarian. Originally it was identified as those people who had no wealth other than their sons. The term was initially used in a derogatory sense, until Karl Marx used it as a sociological term to refer to the working class.”
thats all people wan to be reminded of when they go out for pizza.

FullTiltParticipantSo it is being opened by a young couple that live in the area. They have set an opening date of Sept 11th. Not for the significance of the date, but that is when the work and permits should be done.
So far it looks really nice inside.

JoBParticipantToddinWestwood…
i like the name.. to me it translates as “working man’s pizza” and makes me think of no nonsense jeans and t-shirt kind of place where i might linger in conversation with like minded friends…
I am hoping for real pizza with real ingredients prepared to order to suit my tastes…
please tell me it isn’t a dream…

WSBKeymasterWhen I interviewed them (and never got around to a full writeup, just as well since their opening is still a few weeks away) they said they didn’t plan a particular style of pizza – their description was something close to what you yearn for – so think good thoughts! We meantime are currently great fans of Amante as well as Zeek’s, Pagliacci only if we have the time and inclination to drive to The Junction since their delivery cutoff is still ridiculously short of Upper Fauntleroy …
