RIP – Johnny Winter

Not that this was terribly surprising, given his physical state, but I’ll miss him nonetheless.

My first live show. Johnny & Edgar Winter and Rory Gallagher opened up at the old Seattle Center Arena. 1975, if memory serves. Took the bus there with my buddy Jon.

Johnny and Rory now gone. Both crazy good guitarists. If you like hot electric blues, check out, ironically, “Still Alive & Well”. Written by his buddy Rick Derringer but played better by Johnny. :-)

wake…I remember sitting in Newark airport with my future husband (1973?) waiting to come to Seattle for a visit (we were in the army back there), and who walks by, but Edgar Winter…so while we waited we played stalkers – lol…we were hoping his brother would show up, too…but no such luck.
