I saw a red pickup truck with a logo on the side and with a trailer dumping some kind of fluid down the storm drain in the parking lot behind The Matador and the Woodwork furniture shop. I couldn’t get a good look and planned on getting his lic. but he saw me eying him and took off fast. I think it was MLI sweeps or something like that… Nice newer red pickup. Any ideas on what to do with this info?

I’d try calling Seattle Public Utilities. Their illegal dumping report program seems to be for solid waste, but they oversee drains and sewers too.

I would think that the fact they took off in a hurry says a lot. There is also a toxic waste reporting number at SPU where you can leave reports 24/7. I have what would seem to be less serious issues in my neighborhood (car ranchers leaving oil slicks up and down the street) and the toxic waste folks told me they want even those reports immediately.

This happens way too often; it’s no wonder Puget Sound is becoming a dead zone.

    ‘anonyme’~What are “car ranchers”?

People who buy and sell / hoard cars and keep parking them all over their neighborhood because they have no place to park them on their own property.

A very grey area, and nothing the city can do as long as the “ranchers” keep moving the cars every 72 hours.
