You know it happens every year: those strings of lights that worked last year, DON’T work this year.

I know there are some places that will recycle them. Does anyone know who or where they are taking them? Thanks West Seattle, the best blog ever !

    Vanessa,

TR has posted a link for light recycling in the story on the home page, McLendon’s is one of the local sites.

Yes, thank you for posting this. I knew we had strings that were no longer working – we’ve carried that damn bag through 3 moves and across 2 states. But last night I let my darling know what we could do with them and he looked at me and smiled, “Guess I’m going dumpster diving.” Actually he only has to reach into our waste can, but yes, thanks all!

Just about every year around Thanksgiving, Home Depot will recycle your old lights and give you a $5 coupon towards energy efficient LED lights.
