anonymeParticipantYesterday my dog had a small freak accident and snapped a toenail just above the quick. I usually see Dr. Johnson at West Seattle Animal Hospital (he’s great, by the way) but he was not available. We saw Dr. Meredith today, and I was so impressed that I wanted to post a rave here.
He’s a new young vet, very engaging and enthusiastic. His recommendations were very common-sense, he didn’t push drugs or aggressive treatment, and was very understanding of my budget issues. I lean toward holistic medicine and although we didn’t specifically discuss the issue I got the impression that he’s alternative-friendly. If anyone out there is looking for a vet, I’d try Dr. Meredith.
One last thing: my dog liked him, and she’s a spook. One more last thing: I’m not young, but if I were – he’s very cute.

anonymeParticipantOK, I was so impressed with Dr. Meredith that I took my dog back to him for a dental cleaning. I’d gotten an estimate a year ago with a range of $750-1100. Dr. Meredith cut that estimate almost in half, and with my 40% off dental coupon my total bill came to well under $200 – even lower than the revised low estimate. He even trimmed my dog’s nails. But the greatest thing is Dr. Meredith’s demeanor. He is so sweet and reassuring, but competent as well. You can tell he loves what he does. I must figure out a way to say thanks. Highly, highly recommend this veterinarian.

waterworldParticipantAnonyme: Where did you get a 40% off coupon? I’ve seen Dr. Meredith too — well, my kittens have — and we all think he’s fantastic. I think it’s time for their first cleaning soon, and I’d love to get a break on the price.

anonymeParticipantI was sent a postcard coupon in the mail. You might also try an online search, as the West Seattle Animal Hospital coupons can be printed from certain sites. Or, since you’re already a client, maybe you could just call and ask them if they’d honor the discount…?

Hmm. Could anonyme’s discount on her second visit to Dr. Meredith have anything to do with the fact that she’d just announced to the Internet (i.e., everyone on Planet Earth) that he’s “a cutie”?
Or was that just a coincidence?
May your quest be successful, ww.
Just be creative about it, please.
“Cutie” has been used already.

waterworldParticipantOh, okay. I’m game. I think Dr. Meredith is adorable, and the kittens think he’s a purr-fect playmate! How’s that for suck-uppery?

DPMemberGood. “Adorable” is good. —As long as you mean it in an unquestionably masculine kind of way.
If I were Dr. M. (which, sadly, I am not) that would get you at least 5% off.

BonnieParticipantI brought my cat to West Seattle Animal Hospital last year to be put to sleep because she was old (16 years) and sick but was told that I had to wait at least 5 hours to have my cat have a complete physical and then have them determine if she could be put to sleep. Really? I was not putting my beloved pet to sleep because I didn’t want her anymore. She was old and ill and in pain and my decision did not come easily. I then went to Pet Care Center (where they were not cute) and they were very kind to me. I couldn’t believe that West Seattle Animal Hospital would expect me to have a complete physical for my cat when I’m standing there with my old, sick cat in a cat carrier and I’m crying.
Anyway, that is my experience. I will not go back.
