Native_Seattle_DwellerParticipantThey fly under the radar, but I’ve been going to the Chaco Canyon Cafe for the past 4-5 years and always love the food and staff there. I’ve taken a ton of friends and family there – some against their will because they think vegetarian food will be bland and uninteresting – and ALL of them have left satisfied, surprised, and thanking me. Their food is so fresh, so clean, and so unique, I just can’t help but rave about it! I was inspired by today’s meal of their yam & kale bowl and their seasonal pineapple, avocado and mint smoothie – YUM!
Check them out, they are nice folks who serve great food. OH, and they do an incredible weekend brunch as well!

SueParticipantI haven’t been there in a while, but I love Chaco Canyon. I also like to let people know that they have a “Community Bowl” meal to help people out with financial need. It’s a sliding scale price of $2 to $9 (your choice) and the menu says: “The bowl with the goal to provide nutrient dense foods to everyone. Brown rice, black beans, mixed vegetables, garlic tahini sauce, spiced sunflower seeds with choice of orange or banana. Payment is determined by you. All profits collected from this bowl are given back to the community by way of subsidized meals, or donations to local food banks. ”
I just love that they offer this. It’s really a good meal too – I’ve ordered it several times (at full price), but good to know that $2 can get you a nutritious meal if that’s all you have.

JayDeeParticipantTough choice. Its been debated ad nauseum in the past, but things have changed around here. I like Fiddleleaf for breakfast (but don’t expect instant biscuits and gravy), Mission for good and value oriented Mexican/Spanish food, and JaK’s Grill for classic middle American cuisine. I’ve had Kapono’s Chicken but not the other dishesn but the place is packed. Seattle Fish for lunch and Sunfish in Spring and Fall for fish and chips. And West 5 for drinks and comfort food.
