SueParticipantWhen the water taxi is not running on time due to delays, or it’s cancelled for some reason (weather/delays/etc.), do they adjust the shuttle bus times (or cancel it) to match the boat, or does the shuttle still run according to Metro’s schedule? Not having a car these days I’m relying on buses more, and I wondered if I needed to watch the water taxi delays/cancellations, or if I can expect the shuttle bus to still come as scheduled. Thanks!

SueParticipantAnybody know the answer to this? I called Metro to ask, and the guy tells me that the Water Taxi is not running now as it’s out of season (not true), and then when I called him out on that, he says he *thinks* the shuttle bus runs true to schedule and doesn’t wait. I asked him if he could find out for sure, he puts me on hold while allegedly checking with a supervisor, and I have no confidence whatsoever in their reply.

KBearParticipantThat’s really poor service. I’d complain. Even if you didn’t get his name, they need to know that this is happening.

icanhascuteMemberIn my experience (over the past year), when the water taxi is cancelled, the bus still runs according to schedule. But when the water taxi is delayed, the bus often runs slightly behind as well. But I usually show up at my stop at the same time, just in case.
ETA: It probably depends on how late the water taxi is… and driver’s discretion.

SueParticipantKBear, I did submit a complaint. It’s so typical of why I don’t usually call Metro with questions like this. I remember before Rapid Ride C was rolled out, they said they were eliminating the 54 bus. I tried several times to find out if that also included the 54X, and they said yes, the 54 will be cancelled. I tried to clarify this and explain the 54X is not the same as the 54 and runs on a slightly different route, and more than one person told me I was wrong. It’s maddening.
icanhascute, thanks for sharing your experience with it. I recently moved and have no car, and I have regular standing appointments to get between Jefferson Square and the ActivSpace up near Luna Park. The most direct (least walking) way to get there is the water taxi shuttle bus, so I was curious how the schedule runs. Fortunately the Rapid Ride is also an option if it doesn’t come (although a longer walk).
