A Twitter contact called our attention to the fact that a new anti-McGinn video ad (it’s online, don’t know if it’s been on TV) uses (credited) WSB video. (Nothing dramatic, just a McGinn clip from the Highland Park candidate forum a month ago:

) We post all our video on publicly accessible sharing sites so they didn’t need, nor did they seek, our permission for that, although I’m going to look harder at the terms/conditions of such sites to see if there’s any way to stipulate an acceptable reuse of your video when you use a public host like that (I suspect not but haven’t read the fine print). Just going on the record in case anyone sees it and wonders.
Old hat for old media but a little odd to see your website’s name onscreen in a political ad for the first time.
