Police funding answered.

Smoke and Mirrors from the Council:
Several days ago I asked Lisa Herbold to comment on the mobs and gun play on Alki recently. Her answer was that more officers are being dispatched to cover Alki area…. but here’s the “kicker”. She says that the Seattle Parks Dept. is covering some of the cost! Park money supporting police payroll. And she still wants to defund the Seattle Police Dept. while using Park Dept. money to hide the fact it won’t work. Here’s how she/her representative responded:

“SPD has adopted additional patrols on weekends at Alki, partly funded by Parks, and has now added additional staffing for other times not on weekends.”
