To the person that decided to cross 35th this morning, do me a favor – if you’re not going to save your own life by using a cross walk, don’t ruin my life by crossing in front of me and getting hit! This was close to 35th and Brandon right where someone was hit and killed a few months ago. Use your head and think about what you are doing! I am so pissed I can’t even put my thoughts into words…I almost killed someone this morning!

And no, I was not speeding, that is a totally different subject anyway. Jay walking is just as illegal as speeding.

Take note- The power tool You were operating comes with an installed safety device designed to avoid problems such as pesky pedestrians, annoying non- or slow moving vehicles, and those buildings that someone put there just to block Your way. This clever device will allow you to adjust Your speed with surprising accuracy, thus preventing issues that might ruin Your life.

The neighborhood which includes that intersection is mine.

I keep an eye out for several people who are known to have no more sense than the Canada geese that are occasionally killed in the nearby streets.

There is another possibility. Mental illness of some sort that compels them to walk in the street, wearing dark clothes or better yet, “urban camo”, at night when there are 5 million dollars worth of landscaped, well lit sidewalks on either side of the neighborhood streets.

Ya just can’t fix stupid. And no amount of caution on your part is going to avoid the consequences of terminal stupidity for some.

This pedestrian seems to be testing out Darwin’s theory. In all seriousness, it’s definitely not fun as a driver to have a near-miss like this. At least you weren’t on the freeway- a couple years ago, someone decided to cross I-5 South at I-90 right in front of me late at night. Man, my heartrate shot through the roof since I would have hit (and likely killed) that person if I hadn’t been paying attention and slammed on the brakes!
