There has been a national recall (salmonella) for a peanut butter that is sold to commercial institutions, but today Kellogg has pulled some peanut butter/cracker products sold directly to consumers under Austin and Keebler brands. The story doesn’t indicate any batch numbers yet, but we have some recently-purchased packages in our own pantry, so I thought I would pass along the info. I think we’ll hold off on them until we get more details!

    LOL!!

OMG – I saw that movie at the drive-in when it first came out!!!!!!

That would be a very different kind of SOY(nut) butter from the one I buy. :)

    Funny!

How salmonella gets into peanut butter, from Scientific American:

    http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?id=salmonella-poisoning-peanut-butter

Contamination occurred after the roasting process, thus answers:

    1) animal feces (rats in the vat?)

    2) roof leak (ie. birds contaminate leaking water)

If it had been from human bathroom habits, most likely the contaminant would have been E.coli!
