JustSarahParticipantNo, I’m not selling my tickets (it would take a large sum to make me give those up!), just wondering if anyone else is going to this show.
This is probably the most excited I’ve ever been for a concert. I may literally be running around my home in excitement on Sunday afternoon, resisting the urge to stalk the Capitol Hill/Paramount Theatre vicinity in hopes of catching a glimpse of Mr. Malkmus himself.
So… anyone?

dtownMemberPavement huh? And at the Paramount! Good for them!

villagegreenMemberWish I was! Did you see them at Sasquatch? Heard they were not in the best of form. However, I saw them back in the day during the Slanted & Enchanted tour and they were in a shambles at that time. Maybe it’s good that things have remained the same. :)

JustSarahParticipantVG: no, I’ve actually never been to Sasquatch. The lineup always looks good, but it’s pretty expensive and such a trek to The Gorge. I know Pavement’s pretty known for sloppy shows, but yeah, I think that’s kind of part of them. Should be interesting indeed.
I actually got really lazy about going to shows for the last few years, but my husband and I are trying to get better about that. We’ve got Pavement this week, Belle and Sebastian in October, and Built to Spill in November. Whew!

voodooMemberSteve Malkmus brushed against my rear at the Crocodile once. I like to embellish that story by saying that he “grabbed” it, but no one believes me…
I haven’t been to a show in years. I hate the crowds, although with the smoking ban it might not be too bad. Maybe if Ween comes back to town…

villagegreenMemberSarahScoot – thanks for the B&S reminder! Knew tickets were going on sale soon, but missed the date. Looks like there are only a few mainfloor tickets left. Gotta get on that!
Yeah, we don’t go to nearly as many shows as we used to either. We try to hit Sasquatch and Bumbershoot just out of tradition. Sasquatch is a long haul and the camping with drunk kids sucks, but I’ve seen some amazing shows there – Arcade Fire a couple of years back blew my mind!
Have fun at Pavement and please report back with a review!

JustSarahParticipantVillageGreen: did you get your B&S tickets yet? :-) I’m super excited about that one.
Pavement was an amazing show… so amazing that I’ve been just too stunned to come back with a review. Ok, no, I’ve just been busy and a bit lazy.
Anyway, the guys were actually pretty “with it,” bantering, joking, and playing a pretty cohesive set. They opened with “Cut Your Hair,” which was really great, of course. They pretty much ran through all their “hits” – hits being relative, of course, since Pavement never really achieved mainstream popularity. Anyway, “Silence Kit,” “Gold Soundz,” “Shady Lane,” “Stereo,” “Range Life,” “Date With Ikea,” “Starlings of the Slipstream,” “Stop Breathin,'” “Spit on a Stranger,” “Summer Babe,” and more… basically, it was an amazing show and I feel like I definitely got my money’s worth.
My pre-show vodka and cranberry was also worth the $7, since I’m pretty sure the bartender poured about 3 oz. of Absolut in that thing. ;-)
