MarmiteParticipantMy son has got assigned to Pathfinder for 1st grade. I was just wondering if there is much emphasis on sports and PE there?

MarmiteParticipantLuckymom – He was either going to be assigned to Pathfinder or Roxhill due to these schools providing the type of program he needs to go into and he ended up getting into Pathfinder. I was thinking he was going to get into Roxhill as we are fractionally closer to Roxhill that was why I asked about it. Thanks very much for the link!

StringCheeseParticipantMarmite, Pathfinder has an AMAZING PE teacher and program. Lou Cutler (the PE teacher) is a bit of a legend. Every year on his birthday he does a charity run for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The older he gets, the Farther he runs. Last year, he celebrated his 60th birthday with 60 laps around the Pathfinder field. This is equivalent to 10 miles! All of the kids at school join in for all or part of the run. It is an amazing and heartwarming event. Check the Blog archives for more details. Lou also has a before school program for all of the kids where they can work on different skills and perform them in various places (unicycle, hi-jacks, jump rope, etc.)
Most classes get PE twice a week.
Fantastic!

luckymom30ParticipantHappy for you Marmite. At Roxhill kids also had PE twice a week they alternated computer lab, library and PE. We have friends at Pathfinder and it has been a positive experience for them wishing the same for your son.

MarmiteParticipantThanks everyone.. it sounds great! My son loves to move and participate in sports, so this sounds great for him. Even better if the teacher is great with your son Bonnie, as my son will need some extra support too.
