Providence HealthMemberProvidence is calling Part-time Preschool Teachers.
This position is responsible for the overall care of children in the Intergenerational Learning Center. This includes the planning and implementation of an age appropriate program, development of interesting, stimulating and challenging indoor and outdoor environment and planning appropriate daily activities. This position is also responsible for developing an intergenerational program and nurturing interaction between clients and children. Included in these responsibilities are maintaining the classroom, preparing materials for the children and certain clerical and record keeping duties.
Position Specifics.
This position is located at Providence Mount St. Vincent in West Seattle, WA. This is a part time (0.625 FTE = 25 hours per week), day shift, benefits eligible position.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Associates degree in Childhood Development or at least 12 credits of Early Childhood Education as determined by the program manager. Must be registered in Washington STARS Registry for early childhood personnel. If teacher has earned the 20 Hour Basic Certificate in a previous year, s/he must accumulate 10 clock hours in early childhood education, with 4 hours in diversity education annually.
Licenses/Certifications: First Aid, CPR (infant, child, adult cards) and AIDS/HIV Certificate required. Candidate must also attend an annual Blood Born Pathogen class and get a Food Handlers Permit within 90 days of hire.
Experience: Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing. Three years experience related to early childhood teaching outside Providence Mount St. Vincent (PMSV) or two years experience in Intergenerational Learning Center at PMSV preferred.
