New Porterhouse thread

Seems to me like the most recent comments on the Porterhouse thread have been VERY positive. Whatever problems they were having when they first opened seem to have been taken care of.

I hope 24601 (‘Porterhouse-first and last time’ thread) has given them another chance since the time they and 13 of their friends went there on a Saturday night, just after Porterhouse opened for business, and had a bad experience.

Funny what happens when you give a restaurant a couple of months to iron out their problems and let their staff and kitchen settle in a bit.

I understand the frustrating circumstances, but to expect a restaurant, or any other new business for that matter, to be hitting on all cylinders as soon as they open is truly unrealistic. Give them another chance.

The missus and I stumbled across the Porterhouse one evening and they were quite busy. We were seated within about ten minutes. Our waitress was attentive and nice even though it was obvious she was slammed.

The food was some of the best I’ve had in a while. I can’t wait to go back. My thanks to dawsonct for starting this thread and reminding me.

We had an unexpected date night tonight and went straight to Porterhouse. They were busy, and even though we didn’t have our rather loud kids, we noticed a few families with very well behaved children (I know people were previously worried about this restaurant being kid friendly). The service was very attentive and the food was really tasty and well seasoned. I hope to be able to go back with, or without, my kids!

vg – I was there Saturday night as well (with our two year old)! The service was the best we’ve had yet, and the food and beer were great. Server was knowledgeable about both and very attentive. The Porterhouse will definitely become a routine destination on our family nights out. Hope others that didn’t have a great first impression give it another try. You can definitely tell they’re taking feedback and making improvements.

just returned from early dinner at Porterhouse. one of us had halibut and chips (perfect) the other a grilled cheese (yum). beer was perfect (hard to go wrong in that dept) and service was excellent. maybe the fact that we were early helped. i really enjoyed it. better experience than the ones i had at the previous tenant. we will return.
