My son has OCD, ADHD and is going to be tested for aspergers. He currently has been attending the special education class at Arbor Heights. This is the last year he can stay in this classroom and I have his IEP meeting on Feb. 11th to assign him to a new classroom for 4th grade. His teacher in not sure what would be the best placement for him and I am also not sure where to move him to. My son works best in an environment that is calm, with peers that model good student behavior, stays on task and follows a strick schedule. Anybody who has any good advice or has had a good experience with any West Seattle Schools with special needs children please let me know. Thank you very much.

I don’t have any advice but my son goes to school with yours. He’ll be moving into the 4th grade too. I’m not too sure about his next step but the teacher and the person who is head of special ed (can’t think of her title right now) wants him to go on to the 4th grade at AH. I don’t have a problem with that but I’m just not so sure…. Anyway, my big concern about moving him is that he will lose his speech therapist and occupational therapist who know him so well. He doesn’t do well with change.

You can email me if you’d like. I’ve been talking with 2 other parents in the class (both girls, so not you) and we’re all concerned.

My email is fatkitty at comcast dot net
