Jks3369ParticipantI need some must see/must do activities to do with my in laws when they are here in November. We have two little ones so they need to be kind of kid friendly. We are new to the area and would love people opinion on things that just can’t/shouldn’t be missed while visiting Seattle! Thanks!

MrsLMemberWe enjoy taking guests (and we love to visit year-round) to the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks (aka Ballard Locks). You can check out the visitor center, the gardens, the boats that lock through, and the kids can check out the fish ladder.
Also, the Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI) is fun, especially in their new space on Lake Union.
Welcome to Seattle!

QueMemberSAM’s Sculpture Garden in Belltown (stroller friendly if they are really little).
Zoo, Aquarium, Kubota Gardens, Mohai, Alki, Flight Museum… Kind of depends on what sorts of things they are into… And how old the kiddos are.
Oh, and I have heard good things about the Center for Wooden Boats too.

pugpersonMemberDepending on weather a ferry ride is a good option.

Ms. SparklesParticipantQuick and free or cheap:
-Go see the Troll under the Auroia Bridge (Where the North end of the bridge meets land) and the general funkyness of Freemont.
-Walk through Schmitz Park
-Even though its done to death, Pike Place Market is always a vistor pleaser
-UPS waterfall park (open on during week day, daytime hours) near Pioneer Sq, (2nd & Yestler …ish?)
-Water Taxi to downtown…if you’re walkers you can do this to see both Pike Place and the Waterfall Garden.
– Bruce Lee’s grave at the huge cemetary on top of Capitol Hill (great views of the city from that cemetary)

rockergirl5678ParticipantBesides the wonderful places mentioned above we are fortunate to have lovely parks in the city to explore like Camp Long, Alki Beach and Schmitz Park are wonderful if the weather holds up. Also The Seattle Children’s Museum, Pacific Science Center and Seattle Children’s Theatre at the Seattle Center are all great places to go with grandma and grandpa :)
I can’t wait til my grandson comes to visit and I can share these wonderful places with him.

blblParticipantChihuly Garden & Glass then a show at the Seattle Children’s Theater and pie at Pie in the Armory. Or ditch the kids after Chihuly and watch Gravity at the Pacific Science Center IMAX.

squareeyesParticipantThe Weyerhaeuser Bonsai Garden is very cool. It’s been a few years since I visited but I seem to recall seeing kids running around.
