DuckitudeMemberHi All: My religious diversity report is linked on the front page of CNN.com at the moment. May not be there for long, so hurry.
See http://www.CNN.com “Religious Diversity” — click on it and it takes you to http://www.cnn.com/2009/TRAVEL/12/17/religious.architecture.irpt/index.html
Then click on “An ornate look at The Mezquita” at http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-367651
Thank you CNN for actually spotlighting a report that kind of criticized the CNN assignment a bit… I’m impressed!

miwsParticipantThat was fascinating story, and beautiful pic, Duckitude.
Thanks for sharing!
Haven’t been by the Ducky Reserve to see the Christmas Display yet, but, it sounds like Saturday is going to be a nice day, so may cruise by then!

DuckitudeMemberThanks Mike! The link to the report is already off the front page of CNN. Things change fast there. But this link still gets you there http://www.cnn.com/2009/TRAVEL/12/17/religious.architecture.irpt/index.html and of course the link to the story itself at http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-367651 I added some links to recent “controversies” about the Mezquita in the comments section.
As for the Holiday Duckies, they await your blessings!

DuckitudeMemberKC and all: Thanks for the updates and comments. You can still get to the “Religious Diversity” reports by clicking on the TRAVEL tab at the top of the CNN.com main page. It is featured in their travel section.
I find it significantly interesting that there has been literally NO discussion of the issue that the assignment was related to which was the Swiss vote to exclude new minaret construction in Switzerland — see http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/europe/11/29/switzerland.minaret.referendum/index.html
In Cordoba, the controversy for the last five years has been about allowing Muslims to pray in the Mezquita — a wholly “integrated” physical structure, but not so “integrated” from the standpoint of worship.
