My husband and I moved a few weeks ago from 98126 to 98136, specifically a few blocks south of Morgan. I filed a change of address online, and our mail seemed to be forwarded just fine for the first two weeks. However, we didn’t receive any mail at all Thurs.-Sat. this week. We live in a secured building with locking mailboxes inside, and it is unusual for us to go one day without any mail, much less three. I will contact the Westwood P.O., but I’m also wondering if anyone else experiences mail problems like these? Any idea why? We never had problems like this at our old address (besides the one time a neighbor’s Playboy ended up in our mail… that was awkward :-)

A few years ago I changed my business mailing address from 98126 to 98116…and basically the same thing happened to me. I constantly had mail going to the old address and being sent back to the PO at Westwood which handles 98126. I had to camp on their doorstep more than once to 1) pick up my held mail, and 2) redo the change of address, and make sure they hadn’t “misplaced” it again.

My advice is to be proactive with them at the PO…I’ve heard from more than one other person that they’re not the most reliable out there.

Last May, I put in a change of address for my mother’s mail to go to my address, then MY mail started being returned to sender. I went in person to the Westwood Post Office, wrote out a note explaining the problem and the names of all that are to receive mail at my address. It seemed to take care of it rather quickly. I think they give the info directly to your carrier.
