Magazine donation?

I have a stack of old Time and other magazines at home. I was going to donate them to Urban Rest Stop but when I called, they said they don’t need them. Is there any other organization that can use light reading material? I’d hate to have to just recycle them.

The Admiral branch of Seattle Public Library has a magazine swap shelf. They ask that the magazines be less than a year old, however.

Sometimes nursing homes take them (The Kenney, Mt. St. Vincent…)

Try a middle or high school social studies/language art teacher. Sometimes art teachers will take them as well for projects, etc…..

I have unloaded bundles of magazines on the freelist of Craigslist.Seattle. These were “home” magazines like Martha Stewart and Gourmet. Might be worth a try.

You can also check with Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Swedish Cancer Services, or any medical facility that has an infusion center. Patients and family have to sit there anywhere from a few hours to all day and enjoy old magazines, paperbacks, and videos.
