ALSParticipantZipped home during lunch today for something and on my way back to work, I saw a little brown Dachshund heading West on Delridge and Dakota. Thankfully heading away from Delridge, but I was so terrified the poor little guy was going to get hit. I would have stopped to try to catch him/her, but I had to get back to work. The dog was definitely wearing a collar. If anyone is in the area and could keep an eye out, or if anyone has a dog that meets that description, looks like someone may have escaped! Doxies are notorious diggers – a good reminder not to leave your dog unattended in your yard, even if you have a fence (not saying that’s necessarily what happened here, but just in case…)

BBGuestMemberHey ALS, have you seen the posting today on the pets page under lost Doxie?

ALSParticipantThanks, BB. Sounds like the same dog I saw and in the same area. I wish I had more info to offer. I hope they find her soon.

RainyDay1235MemberCan you call the owner and give them any details. It is most likely this dog, yes?
>>LOST DOG (added 3/21)
WHO: We lost our dachshund Molly . She is a copper/red doxie about 8-9lbs, she was a rescue from an abusive puppymill, she is very cautious around humans and most likely very scared and skittish. Any sightings would be great, due to looking we’re pretty sure she isn’t near our house so she may have been spooked and ran a long way from home. She doesn’t answer to her name or whistles yet but treats are a good lure. She is microchipped and has a light blue/brown/cream polka dot collar on with a custom silver monogramed “Molly” tag with a cupcake on it in copper and two phone numbers on the back. Although we didn’t know it at her rescue she was already pregnant and had 6 puppies at our house.
WHERE: Lost on 25th between Dakota and Genesee near the golf course and the Delridge Comunity Center Park
CONTACT: 206-619-2229 or 425-327-3839

ALSParticipantI will definitely call, but I don’t really know what else I can say except that I saw her in the location they described on Friday. :(
