    How about you join in one of the invasive-clearing, forest-restoring work parties every Saturday morning at various spots around West Seattle? We publish them every week in the West Seattle Weekend Lineup but you can check them further in advance here:

    One of these days, when I retrain The Kid to get out of bed earlier, he and I will be there with gloves and bells on. In the short run, the least I can do is help get the word out.

    My son and I are volunteering at West Seattle Helpline this summer. Maybe they need more people? It’s really fun. We just started this last week.
