    Hi,

We’re a gay couple of 18 years just moved to Seattle and would love to live in West Seattle.

We’re responsible hard working guys with good references and TWO sweet dogs that love to play in the park. We’re also responsbile pet owners.

One of the resons we fell for West Seattle was costs of rentals compared with other parts of the city, so we’re hoping to find a bargin in return for two great tenants.

Let us know if you’ve got somthing available and have a great day!

    Hello

Does it have to be an apartment or could it be a very small house? Is there a price range you would care to share?

a small house sounds great. we’re looking at spending less than a grand. but we’re also realistic if something great came up. We’re coming over to look at places and drive around again tomorrow and Sunday if either day works for you and the price is right of course….

    cheers

I just bought a house here myself several months ago. I wish I had something for you. There are a couple of little houses for rent where I live. If you would like, I could see if I can get some phone numbers for you tomorrow.

I live in the Arbor Heights area. Easy distance to

Fauntleroy and Lincoln park. Nice area for the dogs.

Thanks so much Talaki34, It’s Saturday a.m. and I’m going to drive over and see what I can see. If you can get any #’s, that would be wonderful and very appreciated. I’m not sure where Arbor Heights is, but I’ll google it and take a look today. Any specific area in Arbor Heights?

Jim, another idea that is often suggested, is to simply (yeah, I know, ain’t so simple with current gas prices) drive neighborhoods that interest you, looking for For Rent signs in front of properties.

Sorry, I ended up working today. I just got home, so I am heading out now. I will go for as long as the light allows, then I will head out tomorrow. If you look at your map, Arbor Heights is on the South End. I think it is a nice area.

Well the house on 35th is not available anymore and the one on 34th I think became a For Sale, but there is one on 32nd that looks (as much as I could see in the dark)very cute! 206-824-3733. Oh! Numbers on the are 10101.

I will go out tomorrow when it is light and see what else is out there. I didn’t get very far tonight.

Check with banks too… just talked to a friend in San Jose… he is paying 400 per month for a friggin palace … 4 bedroom, swimming pool etc…. the bank wants it occupied in lieu of having it trashed by squatters after a “walk away” borrower left it.

    jimburesch,

I have found seven properties on the Remax site that might be of value. I copied to “Word” and can send them to you or you can hop on there and just choose “Rent” and “Low to High.”

    Jiggers,

What are you looking for? Do you just want a room to rent or are you looking for something else? What if any area is your preference?

Talaki, I just want a cheap clean room with privacy for me.I understand though that there is no such thing as “cheap” anymore unless I move to the shooting gallery which I won’t do. Anyways, I can’t be far my hospital in downtown because I need to do my infusions a few times a month. I’d like to be within a few blocks of a major grocery store since I don’t have a car. The important thing is that people around me have to be non-smokers and honest. I had my fair share of living with arsehats and don’t need for them to be around me.

    Jiggers,

What is “Cheap” and are you willing to sign a lease or do you want something month to month?

I just spoke to someone who is in South Park. He seems very nice. The price of the room is more than you stated, but I think it might be worth a try anyway. South Park keeps you in the vicinity of West Seattle and has easy access to Downtown. Google “rooms for rent west seattle, craigslist” and rooms for rent posted for the 26th of Feb should come up at the top. Near the bottom of the day there will be one for So Park.

    Good Luck!

Try padmapper.com it’s a mashup of craigslist and various other listings on a google map with really cool search options like “within X-minutes from work address” and such. Ultimately I ended up using padmapper to decide I needed to be on Zillow looking for houses, but it’s a really awesome tool!

JIGGERS: I was just at LA Fundita (the taco truck at 15th & 98th in White Center) and they have a little heated eating area….. I saw several rooms for rent advertised in there and noted 3 in particular, $300/mo, $325/mo, and $350.00/month. They were in Spanish so not sure how helpful that is, but if you’re interested I can go back and get the numbers. I think they are for rooms in the general White Center area.

    Hi West Seattle,

Instead of posting a new thread I decided to continue here. I’m looking for a one bedroom rental ideally around the Morgan Junction area for under $800/month. I looked into some of the websites listed in this thread, and I check Craigslist regularly. But besides just walking through the neighborhood looking for “For Rent” signs, does anyone have any tips or leads on available rentals?

    I appreciate the help, thanks!

Here is a website of a realtor in Morgan area. I cannot vouch for them, but they do always seem to have affordable listings.

Google Housing for Disabled and see what’s going on. Low-income housing always has a waiting list, I’m sorry to say, 2 yrs or more. It’s based on your income, a life-saver. Take what you can get and sit it out. Maybe you’ll get lucky.Hope you’ll find a kind person to help you. I can’t do more.

I’m low-income myself and in senior housing. Our list is 2 yrs or more. I was lucky to get in when new 6 yrs. ago.
