PangolinPieParticipantFinally, a high-speed alternative to Comcast.

And the price is about the same; I don’t have TV, just internet, and I will certainly be switching to this as soon as it’s available.

clark5080Participantthe price looks good until you see you have to do phone service also have to have phone service
The high-speed service will cost $79.95 per month, but only when bundled with additional, qualifying CenturyLink services like a home phone or TV subscription. Most bundles will cost a minimum of $115 per month.

PangolinPieParticipantGood point; I definitely don’t want a landline.

PLSParticipantThat’s a big step up from the 3mbps they can offer me now! But a good chunk of change. If it’s that fast and if it’s reliable, i may consider switching.
Just checked their “availability” and it is not here. Still showing 3mb.

trickycooljParticipantA colleague of mine has CLink Gigabit over in Interbay and says it’s amazing! I have Comcast Blast (50 mbps) only, no TV and it’s $76. They’ve been trying to tempt me to take TV again (my friends would probably appreciate me not mooching EVERY UW Football game at their houses, but I pay in snacks!) but it would feel so good to dump Comcast once and for all! Gigabit for the same price as Blast? YES PLEASE.

anonymeParticipantA word of caution: CLink has some of the most horrible customer service I’ve ever encountered. The sales reps will flat out lie to you without blinking, on every detail from cost to modem. The bundles are a complicated mess, as they are designed to be. It’s almost impossible to know what exactly you are paying for, as each segment of the package expires at a different time – and then affects the cost of the other elements. It’s a nightmare. The bills are undecipherable. If you have any question at all, plan on spending hours (literally) with customer service without ever getting an answer. The experience will make any normal person homicidal.
However, if all you care about is speed, I will say that CL has been pretty reliable.

Mr. XParticipantAt the very least it will be nice to have a viable alternative to use as leverage when telling Comcast they need to lower my bill or lose my business. Thanks CLink!

I already have CLink ADSL and it works ok. Just don’t miss paying your bill by 5 days–They are not Qwest.

JayDeeParticipantADSL is slow…But at least I don’t have to deal with Craptastic.
