MaterMemberLincoln Park Cooperative Preschool 3s class has space available – it’s not too late to sign up! Child must be 3 years old by August 31, 2009. Because of parent involvement, the adult to child ratio is high — and costs are reasonable. School holds classes on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9:30 to 11:30 am, and on Wednesdays from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. One of those days is your ‘work’ day and the other two are drop-off days. One day a week the class is taught with an emphasis in Spanish.
Being a parent is the hardest and most important job you will ever do in your life. It is a job a person is never fully prepared for, nor can it be accomplished entirely alone. For this reason parents need support and that’s where we come in. We are a parent education program.
Our supportive environment will offer you:
* genuine connections with others
* friends to talk to who really understand parenting
* caring people who respect you just the way you are
* professional staff trained in Early Childhood Education
Our exciting preschool program will offer your child:
* activities to enhance his or her social, emotional and intellectual development
* an opportunity to make friends
* skilled preschool teachers
* a fun learning environment

SpeakLoudMemberThis isn’t advertising? I thought that was one of the no-no’s on this list?

gambaruParticipantAs a new parent not from this area, I appreciate referrals from other parents about quality programs we can get involved with… Thank you for posting!

MargLMemberThe co-op preschools (at least the Arbor Heights one) are a non-profit orgs so they might get a little leeway. I noticed the Southwest Early Learning preschool on Delridge posts similar openings.

hollyplaceParticipantIt is non-profit, and considered a parenting education class through SSCC.

SpeakLoudMemberThere are lots of non-profits that ‘sell’ things. I run one myself-but do not use the forum to advertise. I thought that was the rule and being a big WSBlog fan I try to respect that-answering someones request for parenting and preschool information is one thing but this post does neither.

WSBKeymasterNonprofits are welcome to post an announcement like this, within reason – such as, don’t keep reposting the same thing over and over again, but the occasional announcement like this is fine. We *were* flagged on this and it doesn’t violate current guidelines and that’s why it’s still here. That means actual tax-exempt etc. documentable nonprofits (and I have checked, these are). If the time comes that we are so overwhelmed by such announcements that other discussion traffic disappears in a sea of them, we’ll find a way to break them off, but (as with sales/freebie postings once we implemented them and said we’d watch for that) the mix hasn’t suffered.

SpeakLoudMemberWell thank you for the clarification-and the support of the non-profit community!
