yikesMemberI bought one of their deals (they are like groupon), and the code Kgb sent me (and I tried every configuration) was ‘invalid’. First I sent a message to the customer service of the vendor, explaining the problem and asking for assistance. No reply (it has been two weeks). A week ago, I wrote Kgb directly explaining the above and requesting their assistance. Their website says that they will get back to you in 24 hours, and I haven’t heard anything.
I know rants need to be addressed to the management, but when they won’t respond, I think it is legitimate to let people know.

DBPMemberyikes, what is this outfit? When I think of “KGB” I think of the Soviet spy agency.
In any event, if the situation is as you’ve reported it, the two next things you should do are:
1) Contact your credit/debit card company and request a “cancel payment.” This will start a process whereby your card company will try to retrieve the money and may take other actions against the business as needed.
2) Contact the State Attorney General’s office and file a complaint against the company. It sounds as if they may be operating illegally.
Please note: I am NOT assuming wrongdoing on the part of the business in question. I’m just giving you the general steps you should follow in any situation like this, where you pay money for something and then you flat-out don’t receive anything.
Good luck.

yikesMemberYeah, I think they took over Living Social and their website shows pics of their ‘salespeople’ and brags about their wonderful customer service….LOL
It seems all the small start ups except for Groupon and TIPPR are being bought out by bigger monsters!
Thanks for your advice, DPB, I will use it!!

metrognomeParticipantfor those of you who have a subscription to the dead tree version of the Seattle Times, you can sign up to get their free Deal Digger coupon book. The current edition focuses on W Seattle; there are coupons for Abbondanza, Pizzaria 22, bang bar and avalon as well as Menache and Sons, JF Henry and Alki Auto Repair. This is only the second one I’ve received (I think they are bi-weekly), so I don’t know if WS will get so many deals all the time.

HuindekmiParticipantI thought TIPPR was one of those big monsters buying out the small start-ups. Didn’t they enter this market by buying the local start-up DealPop?
