I just killed the feature that I think was the culprit behind overzealously catching some posts – particularly ones with URLs in them, such as washingtonpost.com and nytimes.com for some reason – as spam. However, that may make this area more vulnerable to bonafide spammers, here’s hoping not, but please keep an extra eye out in the hours to come … we are heading out to a night packed with public meetings to cover and won’t be able to watch the forum spambasket (or main area) for a little while — thanks, TR

Hawaii’s the only other place we ever lived that we truly loved. Though we don’t remember Spam-mania having been quite so rampant there in the ’70s. Anyway, if you want some saimin with spam in it, as well as kamaboko, check out the North Shore Hawaiian eatery in the Central District. Mmmm. — TR

The Kauai Family restaurant in Georgetown also offers Spam on the menu.

Damn, we may have to bump the “guilty pleasures” thread — Spam(tm) on wonder bread slathered with butter. The arteries drool.

on the original topic, my first action didn’t seem to end the problem completely. so I have done more research into this particular bulletin-board program and found another suggestion which I’ve implemented. as always, keep watch, and let me know asap if you “lose” a post. tomorrow morning though, early alert, I will be offline 9:45-12:15 at the dentist. Patrick will be watching for news but I haven’t yet caught him up on all the admin stuff … he’ll have the briefing on that soon as I have to leave town for a couple days in early June for the first-ever convention of people who do this kind of thing … TR

ther is a spam museum in Minnesota.

    i kid you not.

Hubby was intrigued so we drove three hours to get there.

Spam has been a Hawaiian Islands staple since World War II…

You should see the amount of Spam that goes through the costcos there.

i too would move back to Hawaii..

got Island fever the first time.. but i think i am a little more settled now:)
