flowerpetalMemberHaul out the holly! Bring in the tree! Light the Yule Log! Its that time of year again…
hey! What’s going on here? We are about to enter daylight savings time and it is snowing to beat the band? What is it, a weather band?
My tree is pruned, the forsythia are budding, the primrose are out; and its snowing.
I was ready to move on, ready to dye eggs and wear green and glaze an Easter ham, and and and…

dapuffinParticipantI have a distinct memory of an Easter Egg hunt I went to as a little kid where there was snow on the ground. This was in Massachusetts . . .

carrieannMember(Reporting from 42nd & Andover) I just got back from a walk and was pelted with sleet then snow, then more sleet and now it appears to be coming down in big fluffy flakes. Walking down Charlestown, I had to be especially careful, because it’s *slippery*. Careful out there, everyone!
March 8, 2009 at 7:49 pm #659849
DianeParticipantnow totally sunny, clear; snow melted; I can see Seattle skyline and ferries again
March 8, 2009 at 8:01 pm #659850
JoBParticipantthe snow wasn’t the issue this morning when we took the dogs to seacrest.. the mud was.
wouldn’t you know i skied through the mud smearing my white down coat.
it’s washing now.
that too is spring.

JayDeeParticipantThis AM I walked from the gym (near Charlestown) to Admiral, and serious snow started falling by the time I’d passed PCC. If I’d had a hat it would fallen off, but my warm head, not so much. By the time I made it back to Charlestown at the top of the hill (west, near Schmitz Park), it was sunny and snowing. Glad it melts when it lands, but the forecast makes it sound chilly this week.

AnonymousInactiveSorry – I can’t resist it. Reporting from where I am currently: Phoenix, AZ, and it’s beautiful – sunny, about 73 degrees.
I’ll be back in the cold soon enough, but for now – life is great!!

What TheMemberIt was a blizzard between Admiral and the Alaska Junction and sticking more towards the Admiral area..but nothing down southwest of the Alaska Junction…Just some Ominous Cumulus Nimbus clouds forming…natures beauty at it’s best. I’m really going to miss this place.
March 9, 2009 at 2:34 am #659857
DianeParticipantyup, the blizzard blew through Admiral; all clear again; whole thing lasted about 15 mins; now city lights sparkling; grass/cars white
March 9, 2009 at 6:38 am #659858
addParticipantIt’s coming down AGAIN!!! Arrrgh!
March 12, 2009 at 3:57 am #659859

March 12, 2009 at 4:07 am #659860
CaitParticipantI hope you just jinxed it, What The. I’ve been praying for more snow. I need a day off work. :)
March 12, 2009 at 4:31 am #659861
JoBParticipantcait..
it will get cold tonight.. but i truly hope we are done with snow..
i bought my little plastic greenhouse today and i have spring veggie starts that could go in the ground if the ground was ready for them:)
i am so ready for spring.
March 12, 2009 at 4:36 am #659862
CaitParticipantI’m with you there, actually. If it’s going to be this bloody cold, though, I’d better have snow to play in. And if that’s not possible, I want sun! And none of this sunny-but-bone-chilling-cold hooey. I want some Alki weather!
March 12, 2009 at 5:00 am #659863
carrieannMemberI keep venturing out the moment I see the sun shining, and am quickly reminded it’s still officially Winter. Brrrr! Can’t wait for a nice 75, sunny, occasional breeze blowing through kinda day.
March 12, 2009 at 8:56 am #659864
JiggersMemberIt’s winter officially here thru the end of March. Even the city has the snow plows on alert until thru April. So, I don’t know why everyone is complaining about the type of cold we’re getting. In fact, I think we’re going to have another hot indian summer this year because we had an extreme winter.
March 12, 2009 at 4:08 pm #659865
JoBParticipantjiggers..
i hope you are right… i repotted my runner beans last night and they think they are in soil.. they are reaching for one another. i have to figure out some kind of trellis before they are hopelessly entwined…
i would love another beautiful summer.
my body must have acclimated to minnesota more than i thought. i am not ready for shorts.. but have been out in the sun without a coat:)
