JenVMemberHey neighbors! just moved to Arbor Heights, and trying to decide which internet option is best for me. the boyfriend brought over his Clearwire, and I have been less than impressed with the streaming video speed/quality. Ditto on the Sprint card I borrowed from work. So I guess that leaves Comcast and Qwest? Anyone from Arbor Heights with any insight? thanks in advance!

KevinParticipantOh really? Where in Arbor Heights? We are close to 100th and 42nd SW.
My wife and I have been with Comcast for over ten years now! Sure, you can beat the price, but you get what you pay for. Comcast is the only choice if you want a reliable, fast connection.
We use DirecTv for television, and Comcast for phone and internet. Their phone service is just as good as their internet. Their phone service provides a very robust phone and voicemail web based control panel.
Feel free to contact me at kevinmcc (at) comcast <dot> net if you have questions.

JenVMemberthanks for the info Kevin – sounds like we’re right in the same area. I just signed up for Comcast cable service, so it wouldn’t be a big stretch to sign up for the internet. I am glad to hear it’s good service – I didn’t want to spend all the time and $$ and then find out it wouldn’t work for me in this neighborhood. I just want to watch Hulu without taking 99 buffering breaks! :)
PS – I LOVE this neighborhood!

anonymeParticipantI’m in a similar situation, only I’m trying to find an alternative to QWest. I would strongly urge caution in any dealing with them; they are cheats, liars and fools. I signed up for ‘Price for Life’ and not only did they not give me the agreed price to start with, they immediately raised the price after the two year ‘contract’ – which, apparently, was binding for me but not for them. I filed a complaint with the Attorney General with zero results. The customer service is horrific. Not long ago, they discontinued my security service with no notice. After SEVEN hours on the phone, I finally figured it out how to fix it on my own. Terrible service.
Thank you for your opinion on Clearwire. I was thinking of switching, but dubious due to my QWest experience. I guess this post isn’t very helpful in terms of recommending a service (I’ll be following the conversation for same) but at least I hope I’ve gotten the message out about QWest. Good luck!

clark5080ParticipantQwest was ok but I didn’t like the two year commitment so we switched to the comcast triple play and are glad we did.

MargLMemberHi JenV – welcome to AH. We’re at 34th and 104th. Been with Comcast for years. We have the internet/basic cable package (just downgraded from ‘expanded’ basic). We’ve never had trouble with speed and watch quite a bit on-line.
