anonymeParticipantAnyone out there trained in wild bird rescue? I know where there is an injured flicker, and have no way of transporting it anywhere for treatment. I am not currently at the same location as the bird. I saw it yesterday, and an employee has just informed me it was still there this morning.

jwwsParticipantContact PAWS in Lynnwood if they can’t handle this they can probably tell you who to contact.

TrishaMemberYes, PAWS should be able to help. I took an injured crow there once, and they even sent me a little postcard later letting me know that he hadn’t made it. Sad news, but great animal welfare organization!

anonymeParticipantI already knew from past experience that PAWS does not pick up injured wildlife, but I double checked anyway. NOPE. As I mentioned, I have no transportation, and the bird may already be a goner. Highly unlikely that it will still be there and alive tomorrow morning. Sad.

BBGuestMemberIs someone able to get the bird into a box? Often they are in shock and need to be kept warm and quiet. As you say, it may be too late. Wild life rehab people are the place to take them. I believe the closest is on Bainbridge Island. I will look it up and get back here….

biankatParticipantYes, please check with Sarvey. I don’t know if they’ll pick up, but I had a situation that required their help. I work in Kent and had an injured pigeon on our premises. I gathered him up into a box and took him over to Sarvey’s pickup locale at a Renton vet. Interestingly enough, we also had a flicker fly into a window at work and knock himself out. I stayed with him and he eventually sorted himself enough to fly away on his own. I can volunteer myself to get him to the vet in Renton if you can find out whether he’s still around for help. My personal email is bthomka at hotmail.
