    Dear Pat,

I found your nametag (a black paper circle with your name in silver glitter) in the lovely box you left on my doorstep last night. I really appreciate the food wrappers, empty Huggies box, Jack in the Box receipts, soggy kid’s drawings, broken glass, and old pictures you left as a gift. I’m not sure why you couldn’t take care of your own refuse in a responsible way; I spent my entire weekend weeding and cleaning the entire perimeter of my property, just so that you could trash it. Apparently a clean surface was just too tempting for you, pig that you are. Believe it or not, I actually have better things to do than clean up after you. The pile of sh!t you left won’t even fit in my little garbage can, unless I pay extra garbage charges for your mess. I hope karma catches up with you, you ignorant, reeking piece of hyena crap.

I feel for you, anonyme. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had food wrappers, bottles, cans, and personal favorite, dog poo dropped in plain sight in my freshly cleaned front bed. We have lots of pedestrians on my street due to ferry and no on-street parking which apparently is the equivalent to posting a “please dump your crap here”, sign? And strangely, the garbage can at the end of the street is almost empty.

Apparently, if you put a FREE sign on it, dumping is ok.

In fact, the box was marked “Christmas decorations”.

I haven’t had the time or inclination to deal with it yet. Maybe a FREE sign is the ticket…

FWIW, your letter to Pat should make you feel a little better because it is so good. I feel your purge.

Our awful neighbors up the street put their CLEARLY broken couch outside and it sat there for weeks. No one wants a free broken couch! I finally contacted the city and they came out and took it away.

Anonyme since you know who the slob is that dumped this box of crap on your property I would dump it back on their property.

    We feel your pain.

I’d say someone had a lot of nerve. Do you actually know this “Pat” or find that in the “gift bag” at your door?

A handmade name tag with “Pat” in big letters was in with the trash. I don’t know who it belongs to, or trust me, I’d be at their front door with the box in hand. I’ll bet my doggie would even like to contribute a few gifts to the box were that the case…

I guess I’m kind of going over the deep end about this. But, as luckymom can confirm, I’ve put literally thousands of hours of sweat equity into my little hobo hut and turned what was once a run-down car rancher’s rental into a pretty respectable home. I don’t have much money, so it’s been a long, hard haul, doing almost all of the work myself. Still, there isn’t a morning that passes that I don’t have to pick up some kind of crap that has been tossed out the window at the corner. This was just the final straw.

I contemplated going out and picking apart the mess (including broken glass) so that it could be recycled or whatever was required, but I decided just to report it as illegal dumping. Sorry, I’m just not going to be the janitor this time.

1987; I’d been with the Parking Company for around four years, and had just started my first gig as a Garage Manager at a location I had not worked before (other than perhaps covering other Employees’ breaks on occasion).

As was the case as I was a Parking Attendant at a couple other locations I had worked, general cleaning; sweeping cigarette butts and litter, and just a general walk-through were important to me.

I was walking through my new Location with the broom and dustpan one day, and found a paper sack full of somebody’s car garbage behind the wheel stop at one of the parking stalls.

I had this vision in my mind, that if it had been placed there just after I had done my walk-through, and then after that my boss(es), and/or Building Management went through the Garage just kinda checking up on me, I’d likely get and unfair to me ass-chewing.

There were easy to see/find trash receptacles, at the very least at every stairway door, and every elevator landing.

I looked through the bag-o-trash, and found the same guy’s name on enough stuff, including a Work Order, or Invoice, or something generated by his Employer, to confirm it was this guy.

I called my immediate Supervisor, and told him what was going on, and asked if I could call this guy at work, and politely let him know we had trash receptacles throughout the Garage. Boss sez; “sure!”

This was before Voice Mail was around, or at least so common, so I nicely left a message with the lady that answered, asking her to “….inform Mr.______ that there are plenty of trash cans in the ____ Building Garage”. :-)

i could not agree with you more Anonyme, we are always finding beer cans, McDonalds wrappers, candy bar wrapping, etc that people just threw out their car windows or when walking by our house.

Yesterday while coming home from a very relaxing walk I saw 2 young guys in their late teens or early twentieskivk around 2 empty water bottles and tossed some candy wrappers on the ground before they get on a bus. Completely without a care of their littering, infact they were laughing as they threw their garbage on the ground in complete biew of me and my neighbor.

“Kid, we found your name on an envelope at the bottom of a half a ton of garbage, and just wanted to know if you had any information about it.” And I said, “Yes, sir, Officer Obie, I cannot tell a lie, I put that envelope under that garbage.”

I’m wary of the plastic pop bottles, especially Pepsi bottles filled with yellow liquid. I don’t kick them…any more.

Mike, I can relate to your story. Someone else dumped an entire black garbage bag outside my house a few years ago. The genius who did it left his phone bill in it. Wrong move, dude.

On 21 st ave sw by the Sansilo Elem. school illegal dumping as gone on for the past 15 years, even though it’s reported. We think that it’s a couple of people who charge people to remove their junk, and instead of doing the right thing by going to the dump site, they dump the junk, hazardous waste etc. there. It doesn’t help that the sign that the City put up has incorrect spelling, and improper grammer. There is no deterent such as lighting or camera, so we the tax payer’s are paying for the removal. I pick up trash once a week on my street, fast food wrappers, beer cans, energy drink cans is what I come across.Lazy idiots and litter bugs don’t care about the mess, enviroment, or the neighborhood .

Now just dumped, a fully loaded Air Stream. Filled with garbage, this removal is going to cost $$$$$$. We bring this topic of illegal dumping in this area up at Community meetings however that area is always left open, unprotected.
