Please watch and listen to one of the best speeches ever presented:

I know that this was taken down before for the responses it received. So my suggestion to everyone is to let this speak for itself since we can all agree that it was more than just a speech. What can be said that hasn’t already been said… Thanks House.

    Cait,

i so wanted to walk away from this, but it does matter why this speech is great…

One measure of it’s greatness, as i said in a deleted post, is that this speech resonates even with those who discount the subject…

but his speech wasn’t just a clever compilation of words.. a great piece of oratory.

To venerate the speech while ignoring it’s content does the man and the cause he gave his life for a great disservice.

Tomorrow we will witness an event so unimaginable to Martin Luther King that it was not mentioned in his list of dreams… yet many of the events he could imagine for his children have not come to pass… and will not do so until we as a nation acknowledge the inequality so ingrained in our society.

How many years I have loved the image created with this line:

‘With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope.’

How many times in my life I have found inspiration from that quote. I wish only that it may strengthen another as it has me …
