goodgracesParticipantI know there are fans of Smith Brothers out there — it IS good milk. But we’re looking for organic home delivered milk. (Not just rBGH-free.)
Thanks!

lilithMemberSmith Brothers DOES deliver certified organic milk and eggs. I can’t remember if they have organic half and half and cream or not, and I know they don’t have organic butter.
They are no longer a dairy, but now run just the milk processing plant. Here is an article from the times: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2003930980_smithbros07m.html
So now they have organic sources, too. I get the delivery and I LOVE it. So convenient–they delivered through the snow closures so I didn’t even have to walk to the store. And the milk is not only great, but local and organic. They are also looking into using glass bottles, which I look forward to. For now they have cartons, not plastic.
I don’t work for them or anything–just a happy customer.

JoBParticipantlilith…
i couldn’t find any info on their website as to the source of that milk… i know they say local but i am unsure what local actually means..
and do they process the organic milk or is it just a product they carry like the cottage cheese from alpenrose and tillamook cheese?
is it ultrapastuerized? As much as i hate it, that seems to be important for my digestive system:(
and.. do you have to have 2 half gallons of milk delivered every delivery or can you have a half gallon and cheese or eggs or…
and do you know where they get their brown cage free eggs..
I ask a lot of questions don’t i:)
i read all the labels in the grocery store too… that does cut down on impulse buying since some of the ingredients i can’t tolerate are in nearly everything:)

celeste17ParticipantI get Smith Brothers delivered every week. I can give you the name and number of my delivery guy and maybe he can answer your questions or get someone who can answer your questions. PM me if you would like his number. And yes Jo you can have anything delivered every week. I have a standing order for 4 half gallons of 1% milk and then I add to my order anything else I would like that week. They bill you once a week and I just put the check in the milk box the next week. Only once did they not apply the check and I called and gave him the information and he corrected the account.
