So the Heartland Cafe was sold a few months ago. Although the side of the building still says “Heartland Cafe”, according to both the sandwich board out front and the new menu, it seems that the owners have renamed the restaurant the “Admiral Benbow” Having been a fairly regular customer at the old Admiral Benbow Inn, I find this very cool!

Oh, and the burger I had for lunch today was darned good.

That is good news all the way around. The last time we were at the Heartburn CafĂ© the service was abysmal, the food worse. It was a shame, since during their first year or so we were very pleased with the place. But waiters that smell bad, are surly, and food that’s cold and taste poorly made it easy to decide not to return.

IF they new owners are going back to the Benbow roots, and the food is good again, we’ll definitely give it a shot! Thanks for the update, 2B.
