gunfire near Westwood?

last night some time around 10 or 10:30 my husband and i heard what sounded like gunfire close by in the neighborhood.. but no “commotion” followed so we went to bed.
it sounded like a singular shot followed by two or three shots in quick succession.
does anyone know what that was?

Police pronounced it to have been fireworks.

it didnt’ sound like fireworks
it sounded like pistol shot
