going off peninsula when the viaduct is closed

Hello

As a new comer to the area I’m not sure exactly what the viaduct being closed means. I posted this under “traffic” then thought I might be more likely to get a quick answer here – sorry for the double posting.

Does it primarily effect people traveling to and from downtown? I was planning to go “off peninsula” to Ballard tomorrow. How do I do this?

It means that the exit to 99 north off the WS Bridge will be closed off. To get north you’ll either have to take I-5 or get off at either 1st or 4th and go thru downtown.
